Hi everyone. This blog post is going to be more somber than the other one I posted today. I'd like to express my desire for more editors, and explain why I have been so inactive.

History of this wiki

In case you didn't know, I'm the adopted founder/admin of this wiki. Our founder founded the wiki on April 23rd, 2014 and did not edit anymore after that day. The wiki became a wasteland for nearly one and a half years before I showed up on November 21, 2015. I saw the state of the wiki, (5 pages, all with bad grammar issues) and decided that I would make a Wikia account, because I love Slated, and the wiki needed serious help. I discovered adoption at Community Central and decided that was what I wanted to do, so I did it. I made a commitment to editing for a while. And I lived happily ever after!

Or not. That brings me to my next point.

My inactivity

But why, when there is still much work to do, did I stop editing here? Simple. I felt like no one knew what I was doing. All of us feel like we have to have our hard work appreciated, and though I try to hide it, I'm no exception. I didn't feel like anyone saw or cared what I was doing, and so I moved on. I've enjoyed getting to know others on Wikia. I've spent much time on the chat on Community Central and have had a lot of fun there. I've reported spam wikis to the VSTF, just for the feel of helping clean Wikia up. All of these, I felt, were better than editing here. No one was watching, appreciating, or helping me here.

Well, I was wrong about that. I know some people are watching me.

How I know

I have put up several anonymous polls here, such as asking what people's favorite Slated book is. And there have been more responses to those than edits or article comments, so I know there are people who know this wiki exists, but have just not edited. I've also been looking at popular pages here, and the Slated book page got 28 views in this past week alone. My point is, I'm excited that people are actually looking at the wiki, and the work the founder and I have put in.

But I still don't see the point of editing here. No one has bothered to join the wiki, not even as an anon. Whether it's because you are not sure how to go about joining and editing, or whether you don't care, I don't know. But if you are in the former group, I encourage you to join. In my next post, I will talk about how to join and start being a member of this wiki.

Thanks all for your time!
